ABSTRACT
Pursegloveia aegis S. Y. Wong & P. C. Boyce, is described and illustrated
from the Maligan mountains, a remote range along the
border of Sarawak (Lawas District, Limbang Division) and Sabah (Sipitang, Interior Division) where it occurs in moist
montane forest between 1480 and 1670 m asl. Recognition of P. aegis represents
a significant increase to the known altitudinal limit for the genus. Pursegloveia aegis is illustrated from the
taxonomic Type and from living plants, and compared with its closest
vegetatively morphological congener, Pursegloveia
minima. An identification key to Pursegloveia
species is provided together with a distribution map for all described
species. Recognition of P. aegis takes Pursegloveia
to six described species.
