A new Anthurium sect. Andiphilum (Araceae) from the Volcán Tacaná, Chiapas, Mexico

ABSTRACT

Anthurium mittermeieri Díaz Jim., M.Cedeño & Pérez-Farr., a new species with red berries from southeastern Chiapas, Mexico, is described and illustrated. It is a member of section Andiphilum and is morphologically similar to A. cordatotriangulum Matuda, a species that is distributed in the same area, but differs from that species in having longer and flattened adaxially petioles, longer geniculum, the inflorescence shorter than petioles and shorter spathe.
